The Millennial Kingdom Pt. 1
Revelation 20:1-6, 2 Samuel 7:12-16, Jeremiah 23:5-8
Q: Why is it called the Millennial Kingdom?
The Millennial Kingdom is called such because it lasts a thousand years.
Three views on the millennium:
Premillennialism: Christ will literally return to establish an earthly reign and rule lasting one thousand years. This view interprets the events of Revelation as literal and sequential, including the rapture, tribulation, and Christ’s millennial reign on a renewed earth. This is what MCC believes.
Amillennialism: The millennium is not a literal thousand-year period but a symbolic description of Christ’s current spiritual reign, both in the hearts of believers and in heaven with the saints who have died. The millennium spans the time between Christ’s first and second coming, culminating in his return to usher in the final judgment and eternity.
Postmillennialism: The millennium is not a literal thousand years but an extended period during which the church, empowered by the gospel, brings about spiritual and cultural transformation. Christ returns at the end of this age to complete his redemptive work, with the world Christianized by the influence of his kingdom.
