The Invisible War
Daniel 10:10-21
Point 1: God hastens to hear and rapidly responds.
Point 2: Fear not, angels are fighting for you.
What is the identity of the “prince of the kingdom of Persia” and the “price of Greece?”
- The POP/G must be supernatural beings to resist the power of angels.
- The POP/G have specific roles related to power structures in the region.
- The POP was powerful enough that the angel required assistance from the Archangel Michael.
- The conflict between the POP/G and the angels is described as a “fight” (v. 20).
- These two princes are contrasted with Michael, one of God’s archangels (Jude 9; Rev 12:7-9), who is described as “your prince” and “the great prince who has charge of your people (Israel).” (Dan 12:1)
Conclusions:
- The POP/G are demonic entities (aka fallen angels) that inhabit or influence the world leaders of the Medo-Persian Empire and the Greek Empire and are representative of the “cosmic powers over this present darkness.” (Eph 6:12)
Point 3: God strengthens his servants for the conflict to come.
