“Misunderstood Scripture Pt. 1 ”
Jeremiah 29:11; Isaiah 53:5
Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
What people think it means: “All my dreams will come true!”
What it actually means: “God is faithful to keep his covenant promises.”
Isaiah 53:5 – “But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.”
What people think it means: “Perfect physical healing is always Gods will and was provided for as part of the atonement!”
What it actually means: “The death of Jesus Christ heals us from the trauma of sin and restores our broken relationship with God.”
