“The Trinity in the Old Testament Part 3”
Exodus 3:1-15; John 8:1-59

Trinitarian Monotheism: Yahweh, the one true God who reveals himself in the Holy Bible, eternally exists as three distinct, equal, fully divine persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – and these three persons perfectly and indivisibly share one divine being. Thus, Yahweh is one God in three persons – a Holy Trinity.

Point 1: The Angel of Yahweh is Yahweh.

Point 2: Yahweh says, “I AM.”

Point 3: Jesus says, “I AM.”
Jesus’ claims to divine identity in Jn 8:

  • Jesus identifies himself as the source of light and life.
  • Jesus speaks of his own pre-existence.
  • Jesus states his authority to judge the world alongside his Father.
  • Jesus affirms his inseparable relationship with his Father.
  • Jesus identifies his own words as Yahweh’s words.
  • Jesus calls himself the “I AM.”

Point 4: Adore the great “I AM.”
